  • MELISSA GERSTLE

    principal and landscape designer

Melissa Gerstle delivers effortless outdoor living for families and high-profile executives with fast paced lives and discriminating taste. Consistently inspired by nature, shape and texture and acutely aware of the context of a space, Melissa’s designs and collaborative approach ensure that each project is an expression of her client’s vision, articulated through a thoughtful integration of materials and forms.

Her passion for craftsmanship and the use of different materials to create custom objects for her clients has allowed her to create countless one-of-a-kind furnishings, adding a unique touch to each project. Whether a particular element requires metal, stone or exotic hardwood, Melissa has a knack for finding the right materials and craftsmen for each endeavor.

A business degree from the prestigious University of Michigan Ross School of Business, combined with corporate experience in the travel and luxury goods industries, and a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture provided Melissa with the tools to design a business operation that offers her high powered clients a full service, turnkey solution that takes each project from design through completion and caters to their demanding lives.

When not designing gardens, Melissa enjoys writing for her blog, LandscapeCONFIDENTIAL and painting. But her favorite activity is spending time with her children (who she considers her best creations,) her incredibly tall husband (he’s 6 foot 7!) and their Portuguese Water Dog, Oliver.
